Awareness program on the Online Safety Act for lawyers

Media Law Forum organized an Awareness Program on the Online Safety Act tailored for lawyers, which took place on the 3rd of April 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Galle Face Hotel. The event featured esteemed resource persons who brought invaluable expertise to the discussions: President Counsel Jagath Wickramanayake, Attorney-at-Law Jagath Liyana Arachchi, Attorney-at-Law Viranjana Herath (Media Law Forum Chairperson), and Attorney-at-Law Prabodha Rathnayake (Media Law Forum Operation Director)

The program commenced with a comprehensive overview of the Online Safety Act presented by AAL Jagath Liyana Arachchi. Attendees gained insight into the legal framework, provisions, and implications of the Act, setting the stage for further exploration.

Following this foundational understanding, President Counsel Jagath Wickramanayake took the stage to provide valuable insights into the role of lawyers in safeguarding rights under the Online Safety Act.
