The Media Law Forum participated in the webinar organized by Canada based institute, Centre for Law and Democracy. The webinar was held on August 11th and 12th, 2021 with the participation of lawyers and journalists from several countries such as, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Pakistan etc.
As the Executive Director of Centre for Law and Democracy elaborated in his inaugural speech, this webinar was to promote networking of lawyers with expertise on laws related to media.
Media Law Forum being a pioneer organisation in Sri Lanka established to address the lacuna among legal professionals with expertise on media law, was highlighted during the webinar as a success story. Advisor to Media Law Forum Mr. Jagath Wickramanayake (PC) conducted a session on Sri Lankan experience and lessons learnt in law affecting media.
