Conducted by the Media Law Forum, a pivotal proponent of legal discourse within the media realm, the event held on the morning of November 25, 2023, in Nuwara Eliya, signified a noteworthy advancement in endeavors to empower media journalists in addressing the prevalent issue of hate speech, supported by funding from UNESCO.

The participants comprised exclusively of social media activists.

As an integral component of a thoughtfully crafted media and law consultation program, the forum sought not only to elucidate but also to furnish media activists with concrete legal tools to effectively counteract the proliferation of hate speech on various social media platforms.
