The Media Law Forum conducted a specialized information session with MOJO News—Mobile Journalism Journalists on Thursday, August 29, 2025, at the Sri Lanka Press Institute Auditorium.
The session focused on the unique challenges faced by mobile journalism and social media platforms in implementing the revised election media guidelines for Sri Lanka’s upcoming provincial council elections. Expert facilitators provided MOJO News journalists with advanced tools for monitoring campaign finance in social media political advertising and guided them on the responsible use of generative AI in dynamic digital newsrooms.
The interactive workshop further enhanced their skills in digital verification techniques to counter election-related misinformation and online hate speech in real-time publishing environments. This targeted approach reflects the Media Law Forum’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s diverse media landscape, with support from the European Union in partnership with DRI and Factum.
