On 24.04.2025, the Media Law Forum delivered a specialized information session for Supreme TV, a prominent Sinhala-language television broadcaster with extensive electronic, digital, and social media operations. The session was customized to address broadcasting-specific challenges in implementing the revised election media guidelines for the 2025 local government elections. Resource persons demonstrated practical applications of campaign finance regulations for television advertising and guided verification of information when utilizing generative AI technologies in broadcast journalism. The Forum offered Supreme TV’s production teams scenario-based training on identifying and countering audiovisual misinformation and hate speech during election coverage. This broadcaster-focused approach reflects Media Law Forum’s commitment to strengthening diverse media ecosystems through EU-funded programming in collaboration with DRI and Factum.
