Digital Rights: A Guide for Safe and Informed Digital Participation
(Trilingual Booklet – English | Sinhala | Tamil)
Media Law Forum Sri Lanka presents “Digital Rights: A Guide for Safe and Informed Digital Participation,” a trilingual publication developed to promote digital rights awareness, online safety, and responsible digital engagement in Sri Lanka.
Designed as an accessible and practical resource, the booklet supports individuals and communities to better understand their rights and responsibilities in digital spaces. It addresses key challenges such as online harassment, privacy violations, misinformation, and digital exclusion, with particular attention to the experiences of marginalized and underrepresented communities.
Empowering marginalized and underrepresented communities to navigate the digital world safely, the booklet covers core themes including digital rights as human rights, freedom of expression online, personal data protection, fact-checking and misinformation, online safety and security, and responsible social media use.
This publication has been developed under the Digital Empowerment Lab project, implemented by Media Law Forum Sri Lanka with the support of Accountability Lab, as part of the Digital Democracy Initiative funded by CIVICUS.
The booklet is available in English, Sinhala, and Tamil and may be freely shared for educational and non-commercial purposes.
